Irish Open

Check out all the things to do in Kilkenny

Since the Irish Open in Mount Juliet Estate 2021 was so successful, the Irish Open will resume there again in 2022. It will be held in Kilkenny from the 30th of June until the 3rd of July. Australian player Lucas Herbert won the DP World Tour title. The Irish Open was held in Kilkenny in 1993, 1994 and 1995. It is such a beautiful course and had such great success that it was highly voted to return to Kilkenny again.

With 7,200 yards of course and 180 acres of countryside surrounding the course, the Irish countryside has never looked better. There is a clubhouse and shop on the course to get you ready before, during and after the open! Tickets can be bought on the European Tour website.

Children under the age of 12 can attend for free so it can be the perfect family weekend away. There is a park and ride facility set up free of charge for all ticket holders, which is very convenient. More transport information will be posted closer to the time to get out to Thomastown.

Staying in the Kilkenny Inn allows you to explore the city while also being able to see what is to offer further out into the countryside. It is a fabulous course with amazing idyllic grounds.

It is a great event that not only includes golf but a great Irish atmosphere, beautiful country air and unbelievable scenery. It is surely an event you won’t want to miss as not many courses are as beautiful as Kilkenny. It is an event that will be remembered in history as it is the fourth time to be held in the Mount Juliet Estate. Who knows who will win, maybe an Irish player could take it all? You will have to book and find out yourself!
